Gluten-Free Rice Krispies Not Coming to Canada!!!

Kellogg may have changed their mind after all! See our latest post here!

When we received news the other day that gluten-free Rice Krispies would be available in May, we immediately contacted Kellogg Canada to find out where they would be available.

Sadly, they said, “Unfortunately, the product you inquired about will not be available in Canada. We at Kellogg Canada and our related companies, continually conduct market research to develop new and existing products. Based on the market research results in each country, a decision is made on which product will be enjoyed by the majority of our consumers. Your feedback is appreciated and will be considered when planning future product line improvements.”

This makes no sense at all. The Canadian Celiac Association estimates that one in every 133 people lives with Celiac disease – the exact same rate as the United States. As well, some flavours of Rice Krispies have done really well in Canada, but not in the U.S.!

All I have to say is shame on you Kellogg! As a large company, you have an opportunity to make a real difference and to set a great example. It’s sad that you chose not to do so.

If you are disappointed by this decision too, please contact Kellogg customer service at

That’s a shame they’re not planning on this in Canada. Here in Australia though, I know there are no plans over our side of the world either *sigh*.

I sent them a response and spoke to a rep on the phone who “kindly” offered me coupons for their products.

What good are those if i can’t eat any of their products, that was my whole reason for calling!

Let’s hope that some more phone calls will change their mind! Probably not before the coupons would have expired though 😛
