Has Kellogg’s Changed Their Mind?

UPDATE: I’ve finally seen gluten-free Rice Krispies on the shelves of Superstore here in Sackville. Not cheap at $5.49 a box, but it’s a great option!

_____________________________________________________________________________

Last year, Kellogg launched a gluten-free version of Rice Krispies in the United States, but chose not to do so in Canada. (Read the post here.) However, Gluten Free Doll reports that gluten-free Rice Krispies will come to Canada this month!

I can’t find confirmation of this on any other blog, nor any of the Kellogg sites, but if this is true, it’s because of you, the reader! We get a lot of interest in gluten-free Rice Krispies and I know that many people have contacted Kellogg Canada about getting the product here. Since their original reason for not selling the product in Canada was due to lack of market interest, you may have proved them wrong.

I will keep an eye out for more news and confirmation and will keep you posted! If you see gluten-free Rice Krispies in your grocery store, please let us know!

I’ve seen them at grocery stores here in the city in the regular cereal aisle with the gluten version of Rice Krispies. I’d suggest asking the store manager if you have no luck – I am sure they can get them in!

Just a quick followup–I was at the Sobeys today and saw a box of them on the shelf next to the regular Rice Krispies. I don’t know if I just overlooked them last time I looked. In any case, I bought the box, and just tried it–amazing. Tastes almost exactly like the normal version. Thank you for the heads-up!!

Glad you found them. 🙂 They really are great – just one ingredient different from regular Rice Krispies.
