New Finds at Costco!

We visited Costco Bayers Lake for a change this weekend and picked up a couple of great certified gluten-free finds that we wanted to share with you.

The first item was a two-pack of Essential Baking Company gluten-free bread. We paid $8.99 for two loaves of their Super Seeded Multi-Grain bread. The best part is that each loaf is in its own vacuum-sealed bag, and they don’t have to be frozen (or even refrigerated) until opened, or January 2015!

We haven’t tried this bread yet as we already had some open, but we have heard great things about it. Apparently it tastes great toasted or right out of the bag, particularly for sandwiches!

The other product we picked up was Krusteaz brownie mix. At $8.99 for three mixes (including chocolate chips!), we couldn’t pass it up.

I figure that even if the mix alone isn’t great and we use it in Death by Chocolate, Turtle Brownies, or Peanut-Butter Brownie Pie, it’s still a great buy.

Great finds! I can’t quite tell…how big is that bread, and how many sandwiches would it make? I like the Glutino white sandwich bread, but the loaves are sooo small, both in size and number of slices they give you 😦

The weight says 980 grams. Looks like about 12 slices, not counting the end pieces, and definitely looks bigger than the Glutino and Udi’s bread. If you can find Rudi’s at your local Sobeys, their slices and loaves are quite generous and go on sale, so they might be another option. I hate how small some of the GF loaves are getting!

I found it to be a little coarse, and overly sweetened. Otherwise quite acceptable. I prefer to toast it than use for sandwiches.
