One of the first things that I eliminated from my diet when I was diagnosed with Celiac disease was sandwich meats. Processed meats are so full of fillers, most of which contain gluten. However, there are gluten-free options out there!
First, don’t even think about getting the meat from the deli counter. They handle way too many different kinds of meat to ensure you’re getting a gluten-free product. Stick with a packaged option.

A friend of mine brought me some Kinnikinnick donuts last night. They need to be kept frozen and can then be microwaved for 10-20 seconds. (After all, their pizza crusts are a staple in our house – and I am pretty sure that Boston Pizza uses them also!)
Am I ever glad I did!

I ate at Bâton Rouge several years ago (pre-Celiac) and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was very excited when they announced that they were coming to Halifax. Mike and I waited a few weeks after their opening to try the Halifax location out.

My cousin brought me some gluten-free muffins the other day from the new Rose & Rooster bakery. They appeared to be chocolate chip, perhaps with quinoa? They were delicious!!! I am going to have to head back down to Seaforth to get me some more. Check out their Facebook page for more info!
