I have recently discovered that Chex cereal has many uses. Only the Honey Nut and Rice are available in Canada, but they are very versatile!

The Food and Drug Administration in the United States is in the process of re-defining what it means for a food to be gluten-free. Peter and Gillian Olins have written an excellent summary which can be found here.

This article was released today on Subway’s gluten-free bread trials. I am really impressed by their efforts. A few points that jumped out at me:
- They are obviously really aware of cross-contamination and making huge efforts to avoid that. This is one area usually overlooked by companies who jump into the gluten-free market.

It’s been a chilly, damp summer here in Nova Scotia. This recipe is one of my favorite cold-night dishes. It’s easy and most of the ingredients are found on hand (except the ricotta). It’s wonderfully cheesy and is a bit like lasagna! (You can add more cheese if you want!) Just make sure that all your ingredients are gluten-free.
New York Fries is Gluten-Friendly… Sort Of

The other day, I stumbled across this thread from the Edmonton Celiac Association talking about how New York Fries‘ poutine is gluten-free. Impossible, I thought! Well, I tried their poutine, and their gravy definitely didn’t taste wheat-based, nor did I get sick. So, I thought I would investigate further.
