Dedicated Gluten-Free Eatery Opening April 9!

The gluten-free community in Halifax is abuzz today with the news of a dedicated gluten-free eatery opening on Monday, April 9! The new venture is part of Pete’s Frootique in the Dresden Row market.

According to The Chronicle Herald,  the shop will offer “pastries, muffins, cookies, sandwiches, soups and salads” from local suppliers Schoolhouse Gourmet and Odell’s Gluten-Free. Even more exciting, the kitchen will be a dedicated gluten-free facility, eliminating the risk of cross-contamination. The Herald article also mentions that Pete’s chief operating officer Dianne Hamilton has Celiac disease, giving them real insight into what gluten-free really means.

You can be sure that we’ll be visiting Pete’s gluten-free eatery soon and reporting on the results!
