Boneheads is What BBQ Should Be

Our next stop on our Great BBQ Adventure was Boneheads, a hole in the wall spot at the southern end of Barrington Street. Mike warned me several times not to expect anything fancy and that we may not be able to even get a table.

Woody’s Bar-B-Q Needs to Get Its Story Straight

Despite the fact that Mike is a big barbeque fan, we have not yet dined at any of the three barbeque places that have cropped up in the city in recent years. We decided it was about time to give it a try.

We decided to start with the newest restaurant, Woody’s Bar-B-Q in Dartmouth Crossing. Mike had asked them about gluten-free options on Facebook before we went.

The Great BBQ Adventure Begins!

Summer is a great season for getting outside and enjoying barbequed food. If you’re not much of a chef, or you want that summery taste all year round, Halifax has some great barbeque options.

Downtown Halifax is home to two different restaurants: Boneheads BBQ and Q Smokehouse.

Years ago, I visited daMaurizio in the Brewery Market and the experience has stayed with me. I remember feeling like I was stepping into Italy, into an older time where things moved slower and dinner was an experience. That, however, was the pre-Celiac days, so Mike and I decided to see how they handled special food requests.
